Just another good reason to locate or expand your business in Perry County Indiana…
Indiana Secretary of Commerce Mitch Roob says companies like Amazon.com Inc. (Nasdaq: AMZN) are attracted to the state’s policies about online retail taxes. Indiana does not collect state taxes on Internet purchases, which Roob says leads to announcements like Amazon’s planned fourth facility in the state.
Roob says the state has no plans to change their tax laws regardling online purchases any time soon. He says Illinois was hoping for $30 million in revenue by enacting such a law, but says they’ve only seen $400,000 because several online retailers left the state.
Amazon announced this week it would be opening its fourth distribution facility in Indiana. The company says the Plainfield location will bring in hundreds of new full-time and seasonal jobs. Roob says he does not have details on exactly how many jobs will be added.
